Nice first entry!

Try maybe to have an additional object into this type of composition (ie a focal point). Could be a boat or a bird or something...

I agree with Patrick. I would also suggest that if you have a view like this maybe it's better to adjust our settings to make the houses in the back and all the other stuff, darker, only silhouettes. The way you have it know, one can see color and some shapes, but not enough detail to fully understand it, and that distracts the viewer a little. Either make it visible and invisible!
